Timber Frame House Hampshire
Butts Farm
Timber Frame House Hampshire – Horton Barns bought and developed this site in Butts Farm Lane, Bishops Waltham in 2013 which was subsequently sold to a buyer whilst still on plan. We constructed a traditional 5-bedroom detached house in a timber frame design, featuring a red brick exterior with oak windows.
Bishop’s Waltham is a medieval market town situated at the source of the River Hamble in Hampshire, England. It has a foot in the South Downs National Park and is located at the midpoint of a long-established route between Winchester and Portsmouth. It is home to the ruins of Bishop’s Waltham Palace, a Scheduled Ancient Monument under English Heritage management, and a well-preserved high street with many listed buildings which now house independent shops.

Timber is a natural product, which is recyclable and biodegradable. Timber requires significantly less energy to produce than that of a steel or concrete substance. This renewable resource gives more efficient thermal values as opposed to a standard ‘brick and block’ house, making it easier and cheaper to produce as well as heating the property.
Horton Barns offer flexible design packages, allowing you to incorporate you own ideas into the build. Our team can supply pre-fabricated timber frame panels for your self-build, or we can project manage and foresee the build from phase 1 all-the-way to the end of the project. All timber framed panels are constructed at our main workshop, to the exact measurements laid out. Panels can take a variety of styles and construction methods, allowing for user defined thermal values (u-values), to suit your various requirements.
